Ash Wednesday ceremony at sea by boat or sailboat in Cabo de Gata

Say goodbye to the one you love where the sea embraces the sky.

An unforgettable and intimate ceremony

Ashes to the sea ceremony.

A final farewell in harmony with nature.

We offer an intimate, respectful and carefully organized service for those families who wish to say goodbye to a loved one at sea, surrounded by the calm and beauty of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, off the coast of Carboneras.

Coordination and notification to the authorities

Once the booking is confirmed, we coordinate with the family to determine the most suitable date and time for the ceremony. From that moment on, we take care of notifying the relevant authorities and managing all the necessary preparations, complying at all times with current regulations and ensuring that the ceremony is conducted with the dignity it deserves.

Journey and accompaniment

On the day of the ceremony, we welcome family members to our offices in the port of Carboneras. The boarding process takes place in a solemn atmosphere, with the utmost sensitivity from our team, who will accompany and guide the attendees at all times.

Ceremony at sea

During the journey to the previously agreed point, we offer the possibility of including music or other personalized details, according to the family's wishes.
Upon arrival at the designated location, the ceremony is performed with the utmost respect: a 100% biodegradable urn is released into the sea and natural petals are scattered, always in the direction of the bow, as dictated by maritime tradition.

Our patron will read a short farewell text, followed by a mourning salute and a tribute maneuver as a symbolic farewell gesture.

Once the ceremony was over, we gave the family a certificate with the exact coordinates of the delivery location, as a memento of the tribute.

Requirements and regulations

In accordance with current legislation, the scattering of ashes at sea must be done using fully biodegradable urns. Out of respect for the marine environment, it is not permitted to throw whole flowers, wreaths, or any non-organic items into the sea. Only petals from natural flowers may be scattered.

In each ceremony we put all our care, attention and respect into ensuring that this intimate and meaningful moment is etched as a serene memory and

deep in the memory of those who experience it.
