Description: Route of the Sea, Mountain and Tapas in 4x4

In this fun 4x4 experience we will discover the youngest mountain range in the Iberian Peninsula, Sierra Cabrera. We will move between three towns: Carboneras, Mojácar and Turre. We will enjoy panoramic views from 1000 m high. Fauna and flora native to the area. We will get to know wonderful and secluded beaches and coves or a beautiful spring that supplied a water mill. A tiny Hermitage, gold mines, fountains, charming neighborhoods and delicious cuisine.

MOUNTAIN

We will cross boulevards and dry rivers that only flow during torrential rains. The volcanic origin of Sierra Cabrera has created an unusual landscape made up of slate mountains dotted with hills of different colors and extraordinary contrasts.

On our way down the boulevard we discover the remains of an old gold and other mineral mine.

On the Trans-Cabrera route there is a natural spring that supplied an old water mill and that can be a refreshing and wonderful stop on our journey.

SEA

Going down the Rambla de la Granatilla we will arrive at its beautiful cove and Sopalmo beach, where we can enjoy the peace and tranquility of secluded beaches practically all year round. In this place we can enjoy a stop for a bath.

On the way back to Carboneras we will see the Lance beach and the Algarrobico beach.

CULTURE

We will pass through Sopalmo, a beautiful neighborhood of Mojácar, adorned with flowerpots and in which there is a small Hermitage and a spring fountain.

In addition, we will see an old gold mine, a spring and the Rayo tower.

PANORAMIC VIEWS

We will stop at the highest point of our journey through Sierra Cabrera to enjoy the impressive 360º views.

In addition, we will see the Carboneras coast from the Granatilla viewpoint and/or the Lance and Algarrobico viewpoints.

FAUNA AND FLORA

During the tour it is possible to observe different native animals. Some of them quite easily, like rabbits, partridges and mountain goats. In addition, wild boars, foxes and other mammals live in the area, as well as a great variety of birds and reptiles such as the currently protected spur-thighed tortoise.

The boulevard is populated by characteristic vegetation of this semi-desert area such as esparto grass, thyme, rockrose; shrubs such as tamarisks, brooms and baladres; and some carob trees, olive trees and hearts of palm. There was an old cork oak from which some trees are still preserved.

GASTRONOMY

We can taste the local gastronomy while refreshing ourselves with a drink.

In short, we will find the contrasts of Almería on the same route.
